there are several things about this that are a little strange, but maybe just do to sketchy details and hearsay. i do find it very strange that he was in miami at all. it is not typical for nfl players to go home when injured. as a matter of fact it is frowned upon. they usually stay at the training facility to get treatment, especially for a sprain.
