Hmmm. Running FF, and it's working okay for me. Running the current version? Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: E-A-G-L-E! on August 03, 2007, 10:06:49 PM Simple solution: don't use chat. ;)
Sorry, I know that was so unhelpful of me. :( Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: Torpedo on August 04, 2007, 05:25:31 AM Explains your quick exit. He already said in his post that he was. ;) :D Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: dystopia on August 04, 2007, 11:28:03 AM Sorry I missed this. I was out of town yesterday.
Weird error, I'm running the same setup, but I'm having trouble reproducing it. The "ModName: unknown" is odd, I'm looking into it. Have you been able to use chat on this computer in the past? Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: Clive on August 04, 2007, 11:52:40 AM Have you been able to use chat on this computer in the past? Yes, but it's been a while. I haven't been in chat much lately, and the last time was while at work. It was a couple months at least before that session.Only thing new on this laptop is iTunes. Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: dystopia on August 07, 2007, 01:14:09 PM Well I haven't been able to reproduce this on either my home or work machines, but checking the X7Chat support forums, it looks like others are running into problems with Firefox, quicktime, and X7Chat.
Firefox Crashes when entering the chatroom with new quicktime http://x7chat.com/support_forum/index.php/topic,2972.0.html They suggested disabling sounds in the chatroom, which I just did. (I never noticed any sounds before) Let me know if you still encounter any crashes. Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: Clive on August 07, 2007, 01:21:49 PM iTunes asks to install Quicktime, and every iTunes update alert asks about throwing Quicktime at me. I've said NO every time, but maybe the initial install did include it or maybe iTunes has a QT module embedded within it ... ?
Anyway, I'll miss the chat sounds, as they masked the creaking of my leather asschaps. But I'll deal. ;) Title: Re: Chat Crashes my Fox Post by: Clive on August 07, 2007, 07:32:46 PM Chat works.
