Title: I'm Hungry
Post by: E-A-G-L-E! on February 24, 2007, 05:09:24 PM
What's for dinner? :D

I'm not sure if I'm making something or if my mom is.  I'm considering minestrone, but we've had that quite a bit lately.  Not that I mind, it's one of my favorites, but I know that the rest of the family would prefer something else - especially Kev.

So what are you all having?

We have marinated garlic and red wine beef roast in the crockpot, right now.

Just about ready to toast dark bread and shred swiss cheese for the onion soup that's simmering. :)

I like it.  It's tasty, and it's pretty filling, too, as far as soup goes.

BTW, I'm having hamburgers, too.

Um, no.  I don't disagree with fasting and have fasted in the past.  But Lent has become merely a tradition of a, uh, certain religious sector and seen as a means of gaining salvation - of which I believe neither to be the true Way of salvation - so I (we) do not take part in it.  :)

That certain sector would be well over half the 'Christian' population of the earth, unless I'm very much mistaken...

Those are called 'Nabs' south of Richmond and east of Memphis, FWIW.

Blueberry scone and french roast (light cream, no sugar) for breakfast.

I don't think you are mistaken about the sector I'm referring to.  (I do need to add, though, that the word "Christian" and the spectrum of whom it includes is, at the very least, overly broad and used much too generally. :) That's also why you don't see me use the word much as I prefer choosing a word that is much more specific.)

i like making my own

lately we've simply not had the time  and desire to put up with the effort -   with the bad weather it's hard to get out to stores that sell the ingredient we like... so  if we compromise, we compromise all the way

not to mention,  i can cook this and not miss any of the golf

I certainly understand the difficulties that bad weather can add, too.
