Title: Fleetwood Mac Post by: spacey on June 04, 2009, 12:11:57 PM Saw them live last night. In no particular order:
1) Sounded great, though the bass sound was rather muffled through most of the show. Otherwise very solid. 2) John McVie is definitely not a spotlight hog 3) The lack of Christine McVie was hard to miss. Apparently she brings a lot of intangibles to their group dynamic that I never realized before. Even on the songs that aren't hers. 4) Lindsey Buckingham is an animal. That guy can flat out play. The fingertips on his strumming hand (he doesn't use a pick) must look like leather. 5) I would never let Mick Fleetwood be alone with my children. And what's the deal with the elf shoes? 6) Stevie Nicks has aged pretty well, all things considered 7) Energy Solutions Arena remains a lousy venue for concerts 8) What's up with halting beer sales an hour before the show is over? I like them but I was conditioned at an early age to like them.
We saw them a few years ago and they were very good. I thought Christine was there but I can't remember for sure. Agreed on Lindsey, he is great live. We were going to go see them in Dallas this year but we didn't make it. Too busy knocking my wife up I guess.
