Title: What's the most GIRs you've ever had in a round? Post by: dystopia on May 16, 2007, 02:39:49 PM The "Upside Down" thread got me wondering...
1) What's the most Greens in Regulation you've ever had in a round? 2) Was that round also your Personal Best score? I realize that differences in course difficulty/greens come into play, but I'm curious anyway. For me, my highest GIR was either 6 or 7, I don't remember, but I shot a 90. My PB was an 84 with 3 GIRs and 30 putts. Title: Re: What's the most GIRs you've ever had in a round? Post by: Walfredo on May 17, 2007, 07:56:29 AM My highest was 12 GIRs but it wasn't my best round. I had a few 3 putts because many of my GIR were far from the hole. My best round 73 was 9 GIR and 6 of 9 up and downs.

This is how it's s'posed to go for a GIR.Um, maybe 1, maybe 2? Par 3 Hit the green with your tee shot. Green In Regulation Par 4 Your drives s'posed to hit the fairway (fairway in reg) and then with your second shot your s'posed to hit the green (green in reg). Par 5 Hit the elusive fairway, with your second shot you can lay up, and then your 3rd shot is s'posed to hit the green (GIR). So the most fairways you can hit in a round is usually 14, assuming 4 par 3's cuz they don't have fairways. Well for me they do. ;) And of course the most greens you can hit in regulation in a round is 18. In Mondays class we'll discuss Sandy's.
