What are you up to?

I'm taking a break from reading up on Ancient Jewish sectarianism, especially in regards to clashing concepts of predeterminism and the nature of the soul and how this conflict has shaped world religions radiating from the middle east ever since.  I figure I'll know just enough about this to be dangerous in another few hours.

Just woke up from a nap and turned on the football game.  About to grab a cup of coffee.

Pulling my hair out with a house full of *goshdarn* screaming kids, only one of them mine.  >:(


and drinking beer.

Just had two August Schell Snowstorms. A local seasonal brew that is different every year. This year is inspired by the Monastic beers of Belgium.

I will be leaving in 20 minutes to make a mandatory visit to my wife's work party that is thrown every year for, and in honor of, all the part-time employees. This will last from 5:00-7:00 at which time I will come home and no doubt enjoy a few more Snowstorms. Or some Chilean wine I bought last week.

Either way I win.

Is Chili wine served warm?

If I'm having chili verde, would someone suggest a good Chilean wine?

Why do they put expiration dates on sour cream?

Preferably. Enhances the flavor of the kidney beans.

As does holding the covers over Susan's head later tonight.   ;)  :D

DUTCH OVEN!!!!

Just returned from buying a case of wine from one of the local liquor superstores.  Just placed them in the wine fridge, which I noticed is weighted heavily in favor of reds.   Hmmmm, perhaps next time I should buy wines for house guests rather than just myself  [sm_drinking]

Just got back from dinner out with the fam, followed by Barnes & Noble shopping (a new daily planner for her).  Sitting down to the Steelers game, and expecting a mojito from my wife's new recipe and bottle of mint-infused rum.  (Hey, mint is out of season!)

Just got home from work. Eating some KFC hot wings and downing a few Guinness.  [sm_drink] [sm_drink]

Watching the game, just drank last miller light in the house, son is sleeping, I just smoked a little and wife is out with a girlfriend.  She gets a night out since I'm actually playing golf tomorrow.   [sm_headbang]  [sm_eekdance]

My mom and I just arrived home from a bit of shopping, and now I'm deciding what I would like for a snack.   

Mashed potatoes, no doubt.  :D

Mashed potatoes do sound yummy, but I went with pretzels instead.  (I didn't have to make 'em. :D)

I blame instant gratification. 

Just home from ice-fishing.  Waiting for supper to be done, wondering what to snack on in the meantime that's not overly filling.

After a very busy weekend of golf I have also got today off work as well.
No golf today as it has been raining and I have Georgia home and she would not enjoy trudging around in the mud.
I decided to do some bookwork today and I have just finished internet banking while paying all our bills and now I am very depressed as the bank account looks a bit sad thanks alot Russell for buying $600.00 worth of extra tools this month he is like a kid in a lolly shop when he goes to a hardware shop.

I'd rather the mark go to  Aske, or spaceage.  They deserve the Karma.

Oh, What the *fudge*. Today is Jagermeister and beer. Watching Rio Bravo, and eating chips and homemade salsa.

I just finished reading "40 Days and 40 Nights" by David Chapman, who is, interestingly enough, Charles Darwin's great-great-grandson.

And I'm having a coffee.

What did you think of the book?

I enjoyed it very much.  I liked Chapman's humour and I also appreciated how he treated people from both sides with respect and some sympathy, regardless of their position. 

Judge Jones seems like a helluva likable guy.   I'd like to have a couple of beer with him and shoot the breeze.  His family owns a few public golf courses in the area, so he's got that going for him as well.

I have to admit, that I’m a little surprised at the support ID has throughout grassroots America.  I've discussed this with some friends who are concerned this mindset will trickle north of the border into Canada.  I don't expect it will.

Oh, how silly of me to confuse the two of you!  Sorry. :(

It's Georgia's birthday today, she is nine.

I have just got back home, from taking eleven little girls out to lunch at Hogs Breath Cafe in Port Douglas (10 minutes from here).  They were so well behaved they had a great time.  The most exciting bit for them was when the deserts were brought out, and opening up the presents.

That really hadn't crossed my mind, but, now that you mention it, I would have loved to have someone from a another country say happy birthday to me when I was 9, too. (It's still rather nice. :D)
