He used tyre-repair solvent to repair the bed. A spark from an electric air pump ignited it and the explosion wrecked his living room wall, windows and furniture.

I've fixed dozens of flat tyres using every tyre repair solvent on the market. I did a fair percentage of them while lighting and smoking a cigarette within a couple of feet of the solvent. Hell, I've even lit the adhesive on FIRE to get it to dry quicker. No boom, ever.
