Title: CrackBerry rendering issues
Post by: gleek on July 22, 2009, 08:42:36 PM
Did you make a change to how this site renders on a mobile browser a few months ago? Ever since this change, messages are getting cut off on the right side in threads with which somebody posts a message with a quote block. I can actually see the right-side border of the main page frame (I'm guessing it's the equivalent to the <td> element with class="windowbg"), but the text seems to flow outside the right bounds of the <td> element rather than wrapping. Again, this rendering issue only happens when there is a quote block. As it happens, I can usually read any new posts by twoiron (until somebody replies with a quote, that is).

OK, I'm back.

I don't think I've made any changes to the mobile version for quite some time.

A couple of questions:
1) does the same thing happen on the mirror site?  (it uses a different template)

2) Do you know your crackberry's user agent?
if not, this site will help:

The mirror site renders differently. It's all text-based (no graphics). It renders just like this site used to before you made some kind of change.

2) Do you know your crackberry's user agent?

LOL What I meant was that the mirror renders like GH used to render before you made the original change for me (over a year ago I think). After the original change, I had the fully featured interface that rendered properly. Just a few months ago is when I noticed the text getting cut off. That's why I asked if you made another change recently. If you haven't made a change to the template since the first time, the rendering issue might be due to some platform update that my BB took awhile ago. I haven't since noticed any change on any other site though. Weird.

Oh, my mistake.  Do you want it the way it was before?
