Title: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: Jules on December 27, 2007, 12:29:02 PM I really have no interest these days in celebrating New Years Eve, I am more interested in the public holiday the next day, so I get to play golf.
I never have any resolutions, but this year I want to get fitter, (to improve my golf. ;D) What about you guys. Title: Re: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: Aske on December 27, 2007, 12:33:10 PM alcohol

I've been getting the impression that a day's being a non-holiday has never stopped you from playing golf. Title: Re: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: Walfredo on December 27, 2007, 12:49:00 PM No plans for us. We got a few nights out partying the last couple weeks so we are just staying home with the baby. He'll go to bed around 9 as usual and we'll fall asleep before midnight I'm sure.

Title: Re: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: spacey on December 27, 2007, 02:02:31 PM We're sort of partied out so we might just stay home, drink some wine, play some boardgames, and try to stay awake until midnight.
Title: Re: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: stroh on December 27, 2007, 02:10:11 PM .......... and try to stay awake until midnight. I gave up on that notion since a failed attempt in 1999. I could never look Prince in the eyes again. In 2000 I was again determined, for fear it was my last night on earth, but found myself awakened, by a blinding early morning January sun, feet up in the Lay-Z-Boy, and it would seem Armageddon was late. Or not coming this millennium. Title: Re: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: tdcoly on December 27, 2007, 02:22:26 PM alcohol + fireworks. Post by: Uisce Beatha on December 27, 2007, 02:38:24 PM Small party at a friend's house. Have an invitation to another but it's a gen-x crowd and not kid friendly so we'll skip that one.
Regarding 1999, the one thing I DON'T plan on doing is accidentally moving a system kernel five minutes before I leave work to setup for 40 friends coming over. Restoring an OS followed by yesterday's backup followed by trying to recreate today's activity until about 3:00 AM isn't the best way to ring in the New Year. Post by: Fuzzy on December 28, 2007, 09:12:00 AM Most likely a low-key, quiet evening at home. Nice dinner, kicking my kid's butts on the Wii, etc. New Year's Eve long ago stopped being a big party night for us.
My daughter will try to stay up until midnight but I'm good with the Times Square dealio at 11:00pm CST. 8) Title: Re: What are your plans for the New Year. Post by: Clive on December 28, 2007, 06:44:38 PM Probably going to my in-laws' place, so it'll be trying (unsuccessfully) to stay awake until midnight, then being awakened a few minutes before to stumble upstairs and sip some "champagne", force a smile, and re-retire.
I am the life of every party. |
