Title: 10 Year Anniversary Redemption?
Post by: stroh on December 31, 2008, 07:51:49 AM
Wildcard:  Queens beat Philly.   Falcons beat Cards.

Divisional: Queens beat Giants.  Falcons beat Panthers.

NFC Conference Championship:  Queens holding the #3 seed, Falcons would travel to Minneapolis.

This time:  No knee (or Chilly Mc*fiddlesticks*tard is a dead man) and Longwell nails the kick.

No Robert Smith running out of bounds more than once, unnecessarily, to stop the clock.

Don't do this to me. That game brought back all my repressed memories of my 70's childhood.

Not to say it wouldn't be interesting. Maybe the Vikes get past Philly but I think the Giants will want to show them what happens when they have all their players going for 60 minutes.

I have a strong feeling that T-Jack on the road in the playoffs is a 'bet your mortgage' play in Vegas.

here's what I hope it comes down to...

...  a close game going to the last few minutes--   pitting the 2 worst clock management/strategy coaches in the league against eachother with it all on the line  LOL.   "Hmmm, 1st and 10 at the Vikes 25, 1:45 to go, I think I'll try to hit LJ Smith with 2 passes in a row, have Donovan kneel on the left hash, then kick the FG".  {akers misses FG, game tied @ 20-20 with 1:32 to play, ... a few plays elapse...} "OK, AP broke us off that run on 3rd and 10 with 24 seconds to go and it's now 4th and 1 at the Eagles 40 and we still have 2 timeouts.  Time for the fake end around to  Berrian TJack bootleg and post to the 3rd string TE! We're winning it all here!"

Too bad it looks like I won't be able to watch it.

1st Division Title since 2k.  1st playoff appearance in the Chilly era, and we can't sell the joint out.

14,000 tickies remain.

This is kind of odd. 20,000 tickets were available and from what I understand they were season ticket holders not buying. I also understand the Vikes changed their policy which in the past caused you to lose your spot on the season ticket list if you didn't buy playoff tickets. Now you don't have to buy.

And the ticket prices "only" went from $25-$126 to $30-$160 for this game so if you've dropped the cash for season tickets why wouldn't you get playoff tickets??

Doesn't make sense to me. But I would be stunned if the game is blacked out.

Will they still black out the game even when it's the only game on Sun @ 4:30?

The 75 mile local blackout rules are still in effect for the playoffs. The deadline is 72 hours before kickoff which is ~3:30 tomorrow.

Guaranteed the NFL will extend the deadline (they very often do anyway), especially factoring in the holiday week, a playoff game, etc.

Good question.  Maybe the NFL could lift the restriction.

Per the link in my previous post the Vikings have already asked for an extension to the deadline. In the past it usually it has to get down to 4-5,000 tickets before the local TV station, FOX in this case, will buy them out.

I highly doubt the game will be blacked out.

I just did a check on Ticketmaster.  2 seats near the 50 yard line, behind the Eagles bench 32 rows up.  Single seat, same section, 8 rows up.

That's about as good as it gets for Metrodome football.

Why do I get the feeling a lot of people don't have much faith in the Vikes this weekend?  [sm_devil]

I have a feeling this is the Eagles Game plan

If AF is in, Dawkins spies him and tries to knock him silly every touch.  If it's a pass play, Dawkins plays rover and tries to pick TJoke off.    [sm_shock]

It's weird that the game wasn't sold out the second the Vikings clinched.

Of course it is hockey season . . .  ;)
