Title: spurs-jazz game 4 (spoilers)
Post by: Aske on May 28, 2007, 08:46:47 PM
a few jazz fans pelting the court and spurs players with debris   :redcard: [sm_protest] [sm_thumbsdown]

spurs take 3-1 series lead with a 4th quarter beatdown on the jazz-  classic playoff ball of taking it to the foul line when you can't convert your open shots.

Many (if not most) Jazz fans are classless boors. I can't explain, I just acknowledge.

I hope the Jazz can take the Spurs to at least 6 games, but they are unquestionably outmatched in this series. Still, give them credit for making it as far as they did.

It's hard to beat a team that shoots more than twice as many FTs as you do. The Jazz didn't help their own cause by shooting worse from the line than even the Spurs.

the problem is ... in the game last night, the FT situation some (hardcore jazz bias) might say was purely officiating,  but that's not true.  maybe 2-3 of the calls were bad, but that's the benefit you WILL get no matter what team you are.... if you relentlessly attack the basket (nobody did this better than jordan when the game was tight....) while the other team settles for mid range jumpers.   4th quarter was simply popovich outcoaching sloan, and a huge effort from ginobli, who showed once again an excellent ability to get to the rim no matter who guards him.

The thing about Jordan, though, is that he could take it to the rim every time because he KNEW he was going to get the foul call. If you gave Jordan so much as a dirty look while he was driving the lane, they'd blow the whistle.  Of course, it was like that with Karl Malone too. ;D
