Title: Heroes [SPOILERS]
Post by: dystopia on November 06, 2007, 02:22:45 PM
Anyone watch it last night? I thought it was the best episode of this season so far.

Not yet.  I still have 1/2 of the previous week to catch up on.  :(

Question:  If at the season/chapter finale` Nathan takes Peter up to the stratosphere to explode, ho are they still alive?

Did I miss why?  Are they gonna tell us later?

I've fallen so far behind, I doubt I'll make the effort to catch up.  :sad3:

They still haven't explained it.  But in the teaser for next week, they said it would be explained in the next episode, but they've toyed with us before.  >:(

Nothing to add to the discussion as I've never seen the show.

But I like looking at my new avatar.  Karma to whoever identifies her.

Oh yeah, and Heroes was way cool last night.  I like nightmare man -- they're getting cooler with the Heroes talents.

But, I think they're having some issues with maintaining all the characters.  I mean, I can keep them all straight in my head (even if I call them 'nightmare man' or 'mirror lady'), but I'm a total nerd.  There's no way you could properly follow this show if it was just on in the background while you did other things.

Ok.  Caught up.  Good stuff.

When Bob was talking to Nathan, telling him Peter was alive, and later telling him that they lost him.......Do you think Bob was looking at Peter "in the future"?  Nathan couldn't see the screen, and wasn't that Peter on the screen being checked out by the "future virus people"?

Gettin' weird.

I totally missed the screen.  Now you're making me want to go and re-watch that part.  I had thought that they lost him meant that they didn't know how he got into a shipping container in Ireland.   But your thinking makes more sense (at least in a weird Heroes way).

I did see the screen and it did look like Peter being checked out in a hospital setting.  I hadn't thought that it might be in the future.  That would be really interesting.  I thought it was taped footage of Peter during the period between when he explodes(?) and ends up in the shipping container.  I thought maybe the Company had him in their clutches for a period.

Bob's ok, but Adam turns out to be VERY interesting. ;)

Yeah, it was a serious question, we're about 2 days behind you guys now from when the most recent episode screens over there.

I've missed parts of the last two episodes due to falling asleep on the couch. ;)

Is it Ann Veal from Arrested Development? (George Michael Bluth's bland girlfriend)

Can we see it a little larger?

(I have a suspicion who it is, FWIW).

Wow, this article is right on with the reasons why Heroes sucks this year.

'Heroes' Creator Apologizes to Fans
Tim Kring admits mistakes were made at the beginning of season 2, but promises to get back on track

Even more encouraging: Kring himself is keenly aware that Heroes is broken. Here's his candid critique:

THE PACE IS TOO SLOW ''We assumed the audience wanted season 1 — a buildup of intrigue about these characters and the discovery of their powers. We taught [them] to expect a certain kind of storytelling. They wanted adrenaline. We made a mistake.''

Yet while Heroes has finally found some dramatic traction, this second volume is pretty much a wash. The Dec. 3 episode has been retooled to function as a potential season finale — a move inspired by the writers' strike and a desire to give the show ''a clean slate'' when it goes back into production for Volume 3. At that point, Kring wants to craft a rebooted Heroes that can attract new fans and win back those who've tuned out: ''The message is that we've heard the complaints — and we're doing something about it.''

Tim Kring, a producer and writer of the NBC hit "Heroes," said he had to revise the ending of the show's 11th episode on the chance that it might be the last one to air this season. "Fortunately we were able to hustle back," Kring said from a picket line in an effort to shut down the show. "The audience won't be left in a lurch."

"HIRO WAS IN JAPAN WAY TOO LONG"  -- YEESSSS!!   Still, I kind of like slower paced character development stuff sometimes.  I have no problem with the Maya/Alejandro scenes.  Feudal Japan just got boring after a while.
