Title: Any "Coincidence" He Signed With An NL Team?
Post by: stroh on November 02, 2007, 05:36:12 AM
I personally think they *fudge*ed Torre in NY.  Huge slap in the face to a man that gave you 12 straight post season appearances, and 4 World Series titles.

1 year deal with all the incentive on winning next year's World Series.....?? ??

Joe could have signed with anybody, but my guess is, he scouted for the NL team with the best chances to *fudge* Steinbrenner, and gawd, I hope he does it.

".....I got news for you Mr. Brown, you haven't heard the last of me. You may think I'm *feces* now, but someday you're gonna be sorry you cut me. I'm gonna catch on somewhere else and every time that I pitch against you I'm gonna stick it up you're *fudge*in' ass!"

Nothing the Steinbrenner's do surprises me, and it now appears that the son (Hank) is a bigger prick than his old man.  And yes, Torre did get screwed.

Torre got done wrong and he was the only one in the Yankees organization I could stand.  The NL is wide open so no reason to think he won't at least make the playoffs or better.

I'm also surprised they pissed on Don Mattingly.  Although Girardi is a good choice too.

Semi-OT: I saw Torre on Letterman the other night. He was surprisingly funny.
