Title: Paper Shredder Recommendations?
Post by: Aske on December 23, 2008, 03:41:40 PM
We seem to burn through one of these a year, at best.

Anyone recommend one?  Time to buy another one.  $100/year down the drain to safely get rid of junk mail.  HATE!

I have this one @ work, it's a little pricey, but it has been trouble free.  http://www.royalsupplies.com/templates/detailnf_price.cfm?globaldesc=na&rnumb=2262&wherefrom=SEARCH&whichord=5695989&department=SHR&class=N&special=R&sold=N&nextrow=VF850MX%20-%20Cross%20Cut%20Shredder%20(10%20Sheet)29107P&prevrow=160MX%20-%20Cross%20Cut%20Shredder%20(16%20sheet)29125Z&nextprev=0&subclass=ALL&subname=ALL&uas=N&zq=97084056&tokns=passed&pagename=Online%20Store%20%3E%20Shredders%20ALL%20%3E%20%20%3E%20160MX%20-%20Cross%20Cut%20Shredder%20(16%20sheet)

We've had this one for a couple of years, it seems to do the trick just fine. IIRC, we bought it at Costco and spent around $80.

Thanks all, we had just usually been buying whatever was on sale at target/costco/etc for $80 or so each time one breaks down.

Do any of you recommend a specific oil too?  Maybe the one I use isn't good enough.  Do you use it more often than is 'recommended' ?

I either take our junk mail into work and use the commercial-grade shredder, or it serves as kindling in our fireplace.

I collect my junk mail in a box and then take it to a commericial paper shredding facility.
