I was joking, though my ss isn't fast by any means. That particular driver set up would never, ever work for me.

It's a nickname my old bandmates gave me. My last name is Palmer, which rhymes with polymer. They started calling me spaceage polymer, and then shortened it to just spaceage.

I believe that Russia could and should be one of our more important allies in the new "global community," and that the current U.S. administration, coupled with the fact that Putin is an old hardliner, has done nearly as much damage as we had made progress over the last 20 years.

Getting the dog was my idea. I've always been a dog person. Originally I was planning on a Rottweiler because my uncle had one and he was a really great dog. Because we assumed the dog would be well into adulthood when we had kid/s we did some investigation into what breeds are good when you introduce a baby to the mix and determined a Rottie wasn't our best choice. I switched my focus to Boxers, but they're really expensive. Laura, after spending a lot of time reading about them, suggested a Pit Bull. I relented (the joke now is that I was settling for a dog smaller than the one I really wanted- Pit Bulls are typically around 40-60 lbs, Monte is 95 lbs) and I'm glad I did. He's really the best dog I could have ever hoped for.

Oh, and we named him after my favorite book- The Count of Monte Cristo.

Describe your house.
Built in 1959, about half updated, half in sore need of updating, brick, split level, 2200 sq. ft, 5 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bath, every square inch has at least one dog hair on it, but other than that pretty clean.

Basement is partially finished (also shares space with the garage), but we're going to gut it entirely in the next year or two and start over- move a couple of walls, wet bar, etc.

The yard is a little over 1/3 of an acre. We've been steadily re-landscaping since we moved in. This year- take out 5 fully grown, and as of last fall fully dead, pine trees.  [sm_disgust]

Milhouse and Ralph both have their charms, but Milhouse is a more developed character. I'll choo choo choose Milhouse.

Pretty much any of the courses they play on tour would be cool. Augusta, Pebble, etc. are obvious.

Also, I'd really like to play Willow Creek CC, here in SLC someday.

I always considered myself something of a "slightly-left-of-center-moderate." In my time in FGI P&R, I've been basically informed that I'm as far left as I can be without being Karl Marx. Tough call.

My opinion is that some of those guys are so far right that the middle looks as far left as you could possibly go. Then again, Ringer said just the opposite of me. I guess we all think we're moderate and no one wants to be the extremist.

Speaking of dying, there's a street in St. Paul that is called Payne Ave.  A section of it is a comes to a dead end.  Also to turn onto the dead end section of Payne you must take a left, on the right is a cemetery.

It is possible, that if I needed to defend myself, I could.  However, I have stopped beating Kev up.  Unless I can get the advantage early on, it doesn't go as well as it did when he was littler.

How did you choose your avatar?
In keeping with the name change from Saloon to Cantina. He's scum and/or villainy I'm not sure which.

Okay.  Who is he?  No wikipedia, use your own words. ;)
His name is Zutmore, and he hangs out in the Mos Eisley cantina. I can tell you nothing further because I know nothing further.
You can't feel much older than when the person with whom you're conversing wasn't even born when that movie came out.

So it's been out for more than 21 years?

Nope, I don't watch too many movies.  And I'm choosy about the ones I do.  But I prefer reading anyway.

Old enough that I have to occasionally do the math when asked how old I am. I am approaching 33.

Depends on the day and the mental skills required at the time.

He's spaceage(d).

The question is: have we passed the spaceage into another age yet?

On Saxophone: John Coltrane (duh); Sonny Rollins; Julian "Cannonball" Adderley; Paul Desmond; Branford Marsalis

On Bass: Orange 9mm; Quicksand; Chi Chang; Henry Bogdan; Bootsie Collins; Kim Deal; Simon Gallup; Steve Harris; Cliff Burton: Tom Araya; Joe Gittleman; Gene Simmons; Blackie Lawless

Spaceage is a musician?

Most real musicians would be appalled over the calling me a 'musician' but yes, I used to play saxophone (quite seriously) and bass guitar (not nearly as seriously as I believed). It's been years since I picked up either instrument, and I am terrified over the idea of picking up either of them again. Some day I will play saxophone again. Maybe. Something about an 'embouchure,' or something of that nature...

what kind of bass do you prefer?

Ernie Ball or Rickenbacker were my favorites when I was playing. I learned on a Fender P-Bass.

Fretless?

No, I was never that good. I tried a fretless once, but my mushy fingers couldn't find a pure note with a map and a flashlight. I do like the way a fretless sounds, though even if I were ever able to play one, its sound didn't lend itself well to the sound/style we were trying to accomplish.

Yes, but I prefer to whistle.
