1. the person next to you is probably wider than their seat is designed for 2. the person next to you is an 'all day rider' (homeless) and is either filthy or won't stop begging you for $ (or both) 3. the seat has someones food/drink/body fluid/ who knows what residue/stains still fresh on it 4. the aisle seats get the nice "standing assclown who refuses to take off his backpack and keeps knocking you in the head with it" effect 5. the window seats get the aisle seaters and the standers arm-flailing all around them trying to pull the stop cord instead of just asking the window seater to do it for them. I must be a sick person magnet, everyone around me was hacking up a lung. I don't like my chances of getting through that unscathed.
