Title: Best. Medicine. Side. Effect. Warning. Evar.
Post by: Fuzzy on June 21, 2007, 06:04:52 PM
You can not make this up.

alli™ is the only FDA approved, over-the-counter weight loss product. But it’s more than just a pill. It’s an innovative weight loss program. The pill works by preventing your body from absorbing some of the fat you eat. And the program includes an individually tailored, online action plan to help you lose weight safely and gradually.

From the website:

http://www.myalli.com/howdoesitwork/treatmenteffects.aspx

alli™ works by preventing the absorption of some of the fat you eat. The fat passes out of your body, so you may have bowel changes, known as treatment effects. You may get:

gas with oily spotting
loose stools
more frequent stools that may be hard to control

But this is the part that made me spit my drink through my nose:

You may feel an urgent need to go to the bathroom. Until you have a sense of any treatment effects, it's probably a smart idea to wear dark pants, and bring a change of clothes with you to work
You may not usually get gassy, but it's a possibility when you take alli. The bathroom is really the best place to go when that happens

Sounds like the same symptoms one could get from eating products fried in Olean.

known as treatment effects.

So THAT's what the kids are calling it these days.

Still, until somebody comes out with something 'Better' than 'Side effects may include death' which was on a heavily advertised blood pressure medication, it doesn't really rate.

I mean, 'Treatment Effect' in your pants, or drop dead?

Good point.

Just remember to wear dark pants.

Hmm, when I was in high school and the cheerleaders took laxatives for the same effect, we called it "bulimia." My, how things have changed.  ::)

We didn't have cheerleaders, but if we did, I'm sure they would have taken laxatives too... ???

It's always nice to have an understanding of why you just *feces* yourself.
