I confess to operating an online alter ego persona who is deeply embedded in "low information Branson-American" territory.  Let's just say these folk were taught the facebook by the Mama Grifter and many are now "my" friends who "I" converse rage with on a daily basis.

They all were right ready to ride the Perry chariot directly into the sun, six barrels blazing, until he confessed his liberal predilections for coddling illegal mexicans.  They went stone cold silent on Perry THE DAY after that moment.  O.M.G.  They hate mexicans.

A few days later, up popped their profile pics, many replaced with a grinning Uncle Thomas Cain visage.

I was, like, "no frigging way!  this can't be real!"

I'm now reasonably convinced that, pending unforeseen developments, they are absolutely committed to heading into the booth to throw an in-your-face-libs! lever, proving how unracist they and voting for the truck stop Pizza Man.  It turns out that straight talking negro is far far far preferable than a wishy washy Mormon, and light years ahead of a kenyan muslim socialist dictator, and that watching Michele B has been a little bit too much like looking into the mirror.  Bless their hearts.

But don't get me wrong.  This support of Cain isn't really from the heart, which is one big reason why I think it has a good chance of progressing further..  It is from what passes for this crowd as a cerebral decision.  They are allowing their brains to override their primordial impulses on this one.  The chatter is mostly about shoring each other up, convincing each other that supporting Cain is the right move.

Looking into their hearts, I'm sensing that their enthusiasm is cloaked in nearly apocalyptic resignation that two negroes will face off next year and there isn't a darn thing anybody can do to stop it.  It is almost as if they are resigned to choosing sides in a battle between two horrific antichrists.

It is almost as if they are preparing to be raptured with the hope they won't be around to see realized what they most hoped to avoid in 2009....8 straight years of a negro owning the White House.

These are conflicting times we live in, for shiz

Well, he does have the unquestioned electoral advantage of being black, so he's got that going for him.

Which is nice.
