Title: Mothers' Day Dinner
Post by: Uisce Beatha on May 13, 2007, 04:43:30 PM
Herb crusted pork chops with balsamic pear reduction
Mashed potatoes
Apple and apricot chutney
Minnesota green beans (thanks to stroh and Minnesota twins)

Other than the 'taters a 100% first time meal.  The reviews are in and wife, mother and step-father give a solid two thumbs up.

Yay me.  :)

not sure what herbs you used, but this (http://www.eau-de-vie.com/img/pages/poire-prisonniere.jpg) makes for a perfect balsamic pear sauce...
 [sm_shock]

what went wrong with the taters?

Had Mother's Day lunch with my mum and dad and my sister and her husband.  My sister's also pregnant and she's due late October..woohoo..

Went and had some yum cha.   Way too much food was eaten, but then for years now I've had the role of 'Food Machine' bestowed upon me...  needless to say I haven't eaten since lunctime yesterday....LOL

Sometimes, the most you can do for the one you love.  Is to stay the hell out of the way.

Let's say, I went the extra mile.   ;)

You nearly made it onto the "I'm impressed list" when you got on K & K, but you jumped straight onto the "I'm not impressed list" when you refused to tell me the behind the scene gossip of K & K!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Made brunch (omelette's, fried taters, fruit, cheese biscuits, dumplings, and some other *feces*). Then my brothers and I played 31 holes (paid for 27, but had the course all to ourselves so we re-rounded 4 holes).

Nope, dad backed out at the last second. He overworked himself yesterday and decided to "rest" (read: continue to overwork himself in the yard).

We went to an in-the-park concert, so dinner was sushi I surreptitiously pre-ordered and picked up en route.
