Title: The Cantina?
Post by: TFT on January 20, 2007, 09:52:02 PM
I passed out in a drunken stupor and woke up in a whole nother place.

Which side of the border am I on now?

Will I need my passport to get home?

No puedo asistirte, mi amigo. Pero debes compensarme para las putas, el tequila y las cabras molestadas.

Actually, the reason for the change was because the wife and I had dinner at a cantina last night, and, maybe it was just the carnitas and margarita talking, but I couldn't shake the image of that old hermit Kenobi at Mos Eisley all night.

I've just never seen either as a positive thing.

None of the vitriol is yours.

I'm talking about the guys twice your age that behave like unruly children.

Including me.

I've just never seen either as a positive thing.

There was this one time when my friend wiped out waterskiing at Utah Lake.  You know how it is on the north end - all covered with a layer of algae.  Well, we were young and didn't know what algae is so we just figured it was scum.  Anyway, back to the wipeout.  He comes up completely covered in this slimey, green putrescence.  We didn't know what "putrescence" meant either, I think we just called it "that stank" or alternatively, "stinky scum".  We were all agreed though, it was a definitely positive thing.  Nothing that funny could ever be thought of as negative.

Villainy?  Don't really have a story for that.  Sorry.

The great thing about waterskiing at Utah Lake (not recommended without a full wetsuit) is that when you crash, you can just walk over to the boat.

I didn't really think you meant it as such.  I was just taking the opportunity to tease.

That is humorous.  However, if that were to happen to me, it wouldn't be such a positive thing.

EAGLE,

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Merely speaks to the fact that we are all fans on the movie Star Wars, and by association, all like thinkers.  Nothing more.

If a body should happen on that phrase, and instantly know it's reference, he/she would know that this place would be a good fit for them, and be able to blend in, and enjoy the company.  You of course don't have to be a SW fan, for that to happen.

That makes sense!  (That's not to say you don't make sense; but it kinda 'clicked' when you said that.)  And thank you for adding that last line, too. 8)
