Deal.

Or,

There's a motel up the interstate (http://wavs.unclebubby.com/wav/MOVIES/BluesBrothers/meet.wav)

I could drive up that way when I have a long weekend.

I get to Cali every couple of years.

Are they still running this time of year?  I do get a four or five day stretch off at times.  We could catch a race if it's still in season.

Pretty much done for the year. Schedules are starting to trickle in for next year.

You're closest track is Perris:

Which is one of the premier tracks in the whole USofA, and someplace I've never been.

Is that the same Hollister slightly northeast of Pebble Beach Bayonet and Black Horse?

And just around the corner from Laguna Seca and Watsonville Speedway!

Not TOO far from Pasatiempo, either.

You know, I didn't think of it that way, but yes.  It is.   ;D

Not to jack the thread, but Watsonville has really been a success story in the last few years, in an industry that doesn't have many to point at.

Hollister is wicked close to me.

I've actually been trying to figure out how to pull off a Palm Springs/Vegas trip ever since I found out you were moving there.  I used to make a Vegas trip every year, but it's tough now with the kid.

Perhaps you have it ingrained in your system that it is winter time and not a time for golf.  Should be a problem you can readily fix.

I'm ready to roll.  I just haven't had the time.  Working 12 hour days.  Wanted to play this past weekend but the guys never called me.

BTW, you never mentioned how you like your new digs. Have you interacted with any of the locals?

Which guys never called you?

When I played after just getting here, I went out as a single but quickly caught up with some guys ahead of me.  They said "It's pretty slow up there."  I said no sweat, is it just the three of you?  I would love to join up with you I hate playing alone.  So they said sure.  Nice guys, about my age.  After a few holes we were talking, two of them work at county clubs.  On at Bermuda Dunes.  They are completely connected here in the desert and never pay to play golf.  At the end of the round, I made sure I had all their numbers and they had mine.  Talked to the one guy on Friday about playing Friday, and he said maybe Sunday, but never heard back from him.  I'm guessing busy with the holidays coming up.

And.......today I talked with one of the guys at work who loves to play and also plays for free through a buddy of his that does some sales rep work and comps all the rounds.  I should be set one way or another.

As for the locals, and about 40 years to that chick and you would just about have it.

Oh, the digs are great.  Settled in and have the place to myself.  The others are in Mexico all December, and even when they come here it's only for maybe a week each month.

Workable.  What I really need to do is figure out what we're gonna do when it's time for Karen and Maddie to come out here.

The simple answer is (much like it was for the right reverend Stroh) because I may have to.  [sm_devil] and FYI Spokane and Walla Walla would be glamor spots compared to where our states largest prison is...ever heard of Connell, Wa.? So golf and beers where Strohski?

That and the place I went through on the way out here.  Somewhere in Utah I think.  My first thought was 'Who the *fudge* lives here, and why?  Who even brings them gas, let alone coffee, Gatorade and Basic Light 100's, but WTF, I guess it works.'  Seriously the most middle of nowhere I have evar seen.

Dallas would have been cool.  I would have done it.

For moving out of state, my list was:

FL (anywhere, but pref. Jacksonville)
NV (Vegas baby)
AZ (Phoenix)
TX (Dallas, maybe Christi)
CA
