Title: Performance anxiety.

My poor buddy Steve came up with this as the best option after not getting it successfully over the river on the 135 yard par 3 11th hole for 3 or 4 weeks in a row, and hitting an EPIC shank shot that somehow rattled threw the rail and ended up sitting cleanly on the bridge.

I went through the same thing 2 years ago on this hole. My solution was to walk down there with a 9 iron and every shag ball I could get my hands on about 8:30 one evening. I just stood there and hit until I got one across.

I went home with ONE ball left.

Ooooh nice bridge.

Surely he's entitled to some relief?

He could take an unplayable and retee, or he can take relief from the bridge which would have put him on the other side of the river in a horrible lie behind a tree.

He has a serious mental block about this hole right now, but hopefully this bit of entertainment clears it.

I should have noticed before... I think he's real problem is that he's standing on the wrong side of the ball....

I always forget that he's left handed and walk in front of him while he's setting up.

It's hard to tell in that pic, but it's raining pretty hard right then. When you pay in advance in May, it's GUARANTEED to rain in Seattle.  ;D

Well, it might help if he stood on the correct side of the ball.

Our sort of irregular 8:30 grouping of 7 or 8 has several left handers. On at least one occasion I was actually the oddball.

Don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, but he looks like he's on the wrong side of the ball
