Actually, I need to stop the 3 or more transfers per week, those 8-12 points add up.  Anyway, even though I am in a 3 way tie for DFL, I have actually really gotten into it, and belive it or not I have watched at least one match every week on Sentanta.

If BSU would shift conferences, and SDSU/Wyoming could somehow be eradicated from the face of the earth, the MWC would without fail be the equal of several "BCS" conferences at the top at least.

Fixed.

Re-Fixed

Dude parked in designated employee parking area, near the designated employee entrance.  No witnesses.  Is being treated under WC as of now.

I wasn't suggesting that dude would 'hit the lottery'.  I was suggesting that the write-up be expunged by the involvement of the *bunghole* attorney.

Is this a union shop?

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the employee entitled to participate worker's compensation for an injury sustained due to falling in the employer-owned, employer-maintained parking lot on the way to work.  Factors that might militate against: Were other entrances available?  Is the one the employee parked nearest the main entrance for employees?  Did the employee appear to be acting with reasonable care on the icy surface, or clowning around/walking hastily?

As for discipline, I'd have to wonder at the underlying rationale for this being deemed "preventable".  People slip on ice, mkay?  Was there some evidence that he was exercising less than due care under the circumstances?

Because regardless of the circumstances, unless it was an act of God, all accidents are deemed "preventable".

As for everything else, I think you are right in that he would be entitled to Workmans Comp. or company paid sick leave, as it did happen on company premises, at a prescribed time in which one would be expected to be on company premises, regardless of whether he was on the clock or not.

We've had instances of discipline involving lost time, off-the-job injuries @ my company also.  In one case, an employee was grinding on a piece of metal at his home and got a burr in his eye which caused him to miss X amount of days.   Because he was not wearing safety glasses/face shield at the time, and because our company has a very liberal policy of supplying PPE for home use, his accident was deemed preventable, and he was written up.

OTJ injuries are a statistic that is heavily tracked @ my company on the corporate level.  While it gets conveyed that the corporation is concerned for its employee well being, the bottom line is off-the-job injuries are costly to the company.  So, it does not surprise me one bit that the guy was disciplined...I don't think it was right, and I think they went a little far, but not surprised.

I have this one @ work, it's a little pricey, but it has been trouble free.  http://www.royalsupplies....20Shredder%20(16%20sheet)

I'm a sucker for a nice Grilled Beef Tenderloin Sandwich with Sauteed Peppers, Caramelized Onions, and Swiss Cheese on Hoagie Roll …. $12.00.
That sounds delightful. Where does one find such a concoction?
Not at Bandon Trails, unless you have a couple of hours to spare whilst it is thawing out.

The fish tacos were exquisite.

Good point but shouldn't he be trying to impress me or make a good impression? Even if threatened by me? I was not offensive or over boding in any way. I just sat there and listened. I answered question in a calm way. I don't think I gave the impression of being protective other then not getting dirt from me.

Anyway the problem I have is how do I tell her without her feeling offended? She really does value my opinion. I don't want her to get defensive just because he rubs me the wrong way.

Tough situation to be sure.  I would more than likely give the guy a second chance, if he still comes off as an *bunghole*, I think you owe it to your friend to let her know how you feel.

I'm kinda in a similar, but totally different situation.  My wife's' best friend is having an affair, and her husband is clueless to the fact.  Though I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on the guy if he was on fire, (Yankee fan, as well as a *fudge*stick deluxe) I do feel a tinge of guilt in not letting him know he is being played, as I would certainly want to know if it were me.
10  General / The Cantina / Re: Christmas Gift-Buying: Your Approach on: December 22, 2008, 01:42:59 PM
It doesn't matter how I go about it, I usually *fudge* it up.

At work, we can give/get $50 R/A's, which are redeemable @ giftcertificates.com.  I usually end up with at least 10 a year, so I save them up, and buy what gifts I know my wife wants, and then give I give her the remainder to spend as she pleases.  She claims this is lazy and doesn't require much thought...

Last year my wife gave me a snow plow for one of the four wheelers, which I thought sucked, as I no longer had an excuse to not clear snow, but I'm the insensitive prick. Angry

I'm somewhat relieved that the infamous "man turd" didn't rear its ugly head.
13  General / The Cantina / Re: Worst cold EVAR!! on: December 22, 2008, 07:01:57 AM
My wife got the same "cold".  It's really knocking her down.  I've been sleeping in the other room to avoid getting it -- I don't want to be sick for Christmas (again).

On a green note, I apparently gave Fuzzy some of that fine sinus "issue".  I've been battling mine for several weeks now; still not gone.
So, you're the one. Thanks, Clive.  Roll Eyes Mine hit me several days after returning from Bandon and just yesterday I started feeling human again.

Yeah, thanks Clive.  I got it 2-3 days after returning from Bandon, and I am just now starting to feel better.
