Title: What's the most you've blown at a casino? Post by: MP on December 28, 2006, 02:14:04 AM I just blew $110 at a casino. I was at 205 at one point and then it all went down hill from there. $110 is probably chump change but for a poor college student, that's like 20 beers at a bar or 20 six packs. [sm_beertoast] [sm_beertoast] At least I got a couple free shots of patron.

No real reason, other than I've very, very cheap and can't see myself doing anything but parting with my cash. That doesn't appeal to me.

We'll go to Wendover and Vegas about once each per year. 21 is my game, but I like playing low minimum tables and they're getting much harder to find these days. Time was you could play $1/hand, get regular free drinks, and play the same $20 all night.
The most I've ever lost was probably in the $100 range and that bummed me out for weeks, mostly because I was a starving student and really couldn't afford it. Now I'd rather lose $100 on golf clubs. Once a year, maybe, in a casino and usually blackjack for a coupla hours.

I only ever go in with around 500 bucks cash deliberately and if I see the chips going to the wrong side of the table and me keep buying in it gets uncomfortable, even with the free booze. Took my parents to Vegas in September when they came over. Half the nights I sat at a bar playing the video game ones with my dad talking and taking the free booze. As long as we had $10 in the machine when he came round everything bar side was free. Some nights we would actually win, others we might be 40-50 bucks down between us. 150 bucks worth of cocktails was about the minimum rake though. ;) Best value in Vegas. |
