Title: Coolest Team Logo.
Post by: stroh on May 09, 2007, 09:33:51 AM
Major Proffessional Sports.

NFL:

Being a homer, I am partial to the Queens' "horns".  Pretty neat concept.
Having grown up in the seventies, I liked these, and miss them.

MLB:

As in the other thread, the "M" for the Twins.

But I think the Chicago White sox is cool.

NBA:  The Timberwolves is pretty gay.  I think the coolest is the Chicago Bulls.

NHL:  Not a huge fan, but I'd probably go with the Ducks.

NASCAR:  No question.  The #17 DeWalt Ford.

I tend to like very simple team logos and/or those with tradition or old school flavor:

NFL: Steelers/Packers
MLB: Yankees (even though I hate them so very, very much)/ White Sox
NBA: Celtics (also loved the old Jazz logo, the new one blows)
NHL: Devils
Nascar: How can a sponsor be considered a "team logo"?
Soccer: See above.

Maybe not the coolest but cures headaches.

Part of this might be biased, but it's also partly because they are cool.

NFL: Vikes (preferably before they "re-amped" everything, but it's still the best)
MLB: Twin's "M" and their baseball logo (always liked how they wrote "Twins", especially the "T")
NBA: Timberwolves (one of my favorite animals is the wolf)
NHL: Wild (I really like how they incorporated the woodlands into the wildcat head)

NFL: Saints
MLB: Mr. Met and the Mets baseball with the NY skyline in it.
Honorable mention to the Mariners compass logo
NHL: Penguins
Honorable mention to the Flames horse head logo.  The original Sabres logo was also quite cool.
NBA: Celtics
        Honorable mention to the Heat
Footie: Newcastle
NASCAR:  The Ken Schrader era #36 M&M's car was and is the best ever.  I don't even really like NASCAR and I have a small diecast of that.

Stroh:  You can't be serious :D  That jaundiced, sunburned gay caballero guy that the Tampa Bay Bucs used to use is about the worst ever!  It's the Three Musketeers gone fru fru!!

The Raidah's may have the coolest logo in all of sport, which is why Tampa Bay copied it.

The Athletics logo makes no sense at all, but it's still cool.

I don't care about baketball.

I alsodon't care for most of the NHL logo's, so I included this pic of the WHL's Tri Cities American's 'Special' jersey, because the logo looks 10 times cooler in person.

NASCAR? Too many good ones to choose JUST one. I'm tempted to throw one of The King's classic STP Red and Petty Blue Mopar's up, but for me it never got any better than this pic of Ironhead before he was 'The Man In Black' and Tim Richmond in the red Folger's Chevy, a color scheme he would carry through 3 different sponsorships and 2 different teams. The fact that this is before they became 'Spec' cars enslaved to the Aero gods also adds to the allure. The Monte Carlo's in that pic look exactly like the Monte Carlo you could go down and buy at the dealership.
