Title: well, it's off to the lowlife belly slitherin
Post by: birdymaker on November 13, 2007, 05:58:46 AM
lawyers office this afternoon. i am always the first one bitch about people filing lawsuits, but after much soul searching i feel i must.
this has been a traumatic experience for me. after 6 weeks i am still in a moderate level of pain everyday. i try my best not to take pain meds on a daily basis, but sometimes i still must. there is some doubt as to whether i will be able to walk correctly again. now that i am on two feet (crutch aided) i am having a lot of problems with my knee, reason as yet unknown.

in a matter of 3 seconds, i have been robbed of several months of my life. yesterday was the first time i was able to climb the stairs to my bedroom. i have for all intents and purposes been living in my family room for the last 6 weeks. i missed all of my daughters basketball games this year.

the other drivers insurance company is supposed to be paying my wages. as of 6 weeks i have not received a dime. we have been living off my short term disability from work 66% and our savings.

so, i have contacted one of the largest law firms in Detroit, (60 lawyers) and hooked up with one that is a specialist in this field, and also a local politician, that oughta be slimey enough.  [sm_devil]

I haven't been paying attention...some kind of car wreck....what happened? What makes you think you have a case?

car - motorcycle accident. other driver, talking on the phone, made a left turn right into the side of me. broken ankle both bones, surgery to repair, 8 screws and a plate in one side, 2 long screw's on an angle in other side. 16 staples 16 stitches. broken right wrist, currently casted. pinched nerve in right elbow, makes half my hand numb. torn cartilage in right hand, surgery coming.

other driver judged 100% at fault and ticketed for failure to yield right of way.

in the future please pay attention. ;D

not exactly what i am after. just want to make sure as problems come up, they are able to be taken care of. after being contacted by her insurance and being told that everything would be taken care of, i couldn't be more disappointed. i was seriously leaning towards chalking it up to a mistake and moving on.

The only thing worse than lawyers is insurance companies, which is the way it should be, but sucks for the customers of either.

(cue creepy music as MFAWG's right ear starts to twitch and his hands begin to type without his direction)

'Arrrrr, if you were entitled to something they would have given it to you, take some responsibility and let the free market reign, you lazy scumbag..

My wife was rear-ended (let the jokes begin ::)) by a drunk driver 6 years ago.  After lots of doctors and therapy, she still still has a lot of back and neck pain.  The other guy's insurance company settled, but she is still fighting the company we had at the time for medical bills covered by uninsured motorist coverage.

Take the bastards for whatever you can, and do not feel bad.

Aren't you glad you posted this in the "other" place. LMFAO. I just want to post over there something like LIGHTEN THE F UP PEOPLE.

Sheesh.

Anywho. Do what you gotta do, which sounds like what you're doin', it's too bad it's come to this but you gotta take care of numero uno, especially for the years down the road when little things creep in, and trust me they do.

Hang in there boss.

Quote
A guy who's injured in a motorcycle accident walks into a lawyer's office, and asks "What is your consultation rate for personal injury cases?" The lawyer replies, "I'm not exactly cheap. It's $1000, and I answer up to 3 questions." In astonishment, the injured guy says, "That's pretty damn steep, isn't it?" To which the lawyer responds, "Yes, it is. And what's your 3rd question?"
