Well it was a nice run. As foreshadowed here (and proving there is a karmic balance in the universe after reading 'fredo's thread):

This morning was brutal. In total, 6 of 11 in my part of the division including my boss and former boss. In addition our engineering manager and Asian product support guy are gone to bring the total to 8 that I know of and I did hear a rumor of many more across the company/globe.

And yes, I was one of the 8.   :-\   :sad3:

But it's not like we didn't see this coming for 2 years now. It was just a matter of who won the lottery. The sad thing is that 90 years of industry experience was walked out the door this morning with just us 6 folks. I'm not exactly sure how this will make things better but I'm not as super smart as upper management.  [sm_devil]

The good thing is that I'll have more time now to finish my new spring signature lines of Clive Assless Chaps and Stroh's Super Sensual Fleshlights.

fortunately (well, used loosely) the steadily increasing price of  energy/fuel will effectively kill the rise of physical goods globalization, thus ensuring a return to at least some levels of domestic manufacturing; however, this will come at the cost of increased prices, depressed wages, and who knows what else-  what remains to be seen is which industries in previously 'capitalistic' nations will be nationalized and which countries will strike 1st in the effort to conquer neighbors rich in certain 'resources'

I've been  :airquotes:downsized :airquotes: twice. The first time was a shock, the second time turned out to be the best thing that ever happened.  Finally ditched korpritmerka and have never been happier.  Good luck in sorting it all out.
