92% as well. Though I'd argue that at least two of their comma examples are matters of style (and one of those really more a matter of intent) rather than grammar.

I give up.  My grammar and spelling are fine.  My mouse skills... not so much.

That's also the one I missed. I think the "of course" example is also debatable depending on the usage of "of course."

You needed a comma back there, dude.

83%  (Missed the same one as dystopia AND the same one as Clive)  (should there be a comma before AND?)

There were a few that were debatable.  However, if you choose the more conservative answers, you would have been just fine.

I did mean choose over chose.  I meant speaking/typing as if I was talking to those who haven't yet taken the quiz.  However, since I did switch styles for the second half of the sentence, I should have used "chose" in the first half or put more thought into it and put "you will be just fine".  lol  Perfect timing for such a mistake, huh?  Nice catch.

My high-school German teacher declined to teach us future perfect tense.  She explained, "After four years of German, you will never have had a need to use it."

And this is Clive making a point that even sometimes things that seem like mistakes can still be accurate.

If only I had known that Clive would make a corny grammar pun while a critical dissection of the pluperfect subjunctive was on the line...

Of course you can.  I enjoy your humor, and for my personal taste, the drier the better.

My post was basically a rhetorical, somewhat satirical, social commentary, albeit a poorly constructed one, on the dumbing of America.  Mixed with my own upbringings, and shortcomings.

Your response just struck a chord, one all too familiar, though no fault of your own, of the corrections of minutia I hear daily from my 8 year old.

"C'mon!  It's 7 o'clock already!"  followed by "No it isn't.  It's 6:58".

So, you we're right.  It is 6:58, and I am not smarter than a 5th grader.

 :)

I completely understood your post, and rofl!!! about the chord my post struck.  I used to (still do) bug my dad by doing the same thing and various other things.  Kids love to bug their parents. :D

And, truly, it's not that you aren't smarter than a 5th grader; it's just that as you have matured (at least, I hope you have matured since your childhood days ;) ), your thought processes have matured, too.  In mathematics, 5 and up round up, 4 and down round down, etc.  Rounding numbers is one of the things that becomes more automatic over time, and it's totally okay to do so.  Kids, on the other hand, like to be very specific. :)
