Title: In case you were wondering...

Fox' NASCAR coverage makes their college football coverage look positively scintillating... [sm_disgust]

Actually, I wasn't.  Thanks anyway! :D

Oh! But you might be pleased to know that I really and truly sat down and watched a race.  Had to keep the volume kinda low 'cause my grandma was resting, but it was a quite a bit more fascinating on a 54" tv. 8)

Do you remember which race?

Like all GREAT sport, it can be beautiful in it's simplicity and daunting in it's complexity at the same time.

I guarantee you this: Until you've seen it live, even at a local 'Minor League' level, you can't begin to appreciate it for what it can (and can't ) be.

Most important: Did you enjoy it?

I liked Days of Thunder, and not just because it's a Tom Cruise movie.

Cars driving around in a circle?  ;)

a)  NASCAR on TV is good for two things.  Falling asleep or boring the wife to the point she's willing to get amorous to make it go away.

On the other hand...

b)  I've been told that once you get into it you can become addicted very, very quickly.  I heed the warnings and refuse to even take one hit.

Used to go to drag races as a kid but that was more for the nearly naked chicks and nearly bottomless kegs.

Let's see...  The last weekend I spent at my aunt's was October 19.  *searching*  I think it must have been the QuikPak 500 'cause that lines up. :D

Well, it certainly looked better over there than it did on our little 19" screen, and with sound is definitely better than muted.  I did miss some of it because I was making lunch, and the Vikes-Bears game was on too (what a sad ending that had), but yes, I did rather enjoy it (and I did see more than it sounds like).  It would have been nice if their computer was closer to the television so I could comment or question and have someone reply, but that wasn't too bad.  The biggest problem was (and is) that I still don't know who I'd like to see win. :-\

I think that's a problem that most viewers have. Typically they just want to see crashes.
