Title: Practice routine?

I'm a 4, but I'm afraid it almost trends to 5...

I like to practice.  Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to play right now (or as much as I'd like anyway), but I get out a few times every week to practice for an hour or so.  One thing I've found since moving to Palm Springs is that the wind blows so much right now its hard to know how you're really hitting it at times since a lot of times at the range you're trying to hold the ball against strong crosswinds.

I like to lie to myself and say that I like to practice but when I look at it honestly I rarely ever do it.  Especially the short game.

I hate the price of it for one.  I also go out and just get bored after about a dozen balls.

One thing I would do.  Have done, and will definitely do again when we get settled is get a decent net and set-up for at home.  When I have that, I will walk out and hit balls every day.  I had a great set-up years ago at our old house and practiced every day.

I try to hit balls twice a week, typically Tuesday and Friday.

Early in the week I work on the swing, and go through the bag, but only every other club. I may not even hit a really good shot if I'm just working on one thing.

On Friday I work on shotmaking by playing a simulated round, ie every tee and fairway shot including escape shots and short pitches. Makes it more interesting.

Werd. I almost never hit more than a small bucket. What's the point? A good thing at Maplewood is 10 balls for a buck, so that makes it fairly affordable. I'm usually 30 to 50 balls.

Here's what I almost NEVER practice: Putting. I just think most people over-analyze that *feces*.
