Title: Golfhos Pay-It-Forward Initiative 1.0
Post by: Clive on January 03, 2007, 08:45:13 PM
Any interest in a little PIF karmic activity here?  I have some crap I could offer up.

[ObDisclaimer: I don't run a "clubmaking business"; I'm just looking to give away some crap I bought and maybe get some crap that someone else bought.  Please don't report me to the mods for competing with our fine sponsors.]

A PIF thread might be cool. I don't have a lot to offer at the moment, I gave all I had in surplus to the tattoou2 Christmas fund (unless you know any lefties with small hands), nor do I really need anything, but it might be nice to see what kind of Karma we could spread among our fellow golfhos.

[Some subfolders within the PIF thread might be nice though.  ;)]

I'd be up for the cause. Since it's mid-winter I don't have a lot to offer either but I'm game for getting the ball rolling.

Okay then, I'll start-

5 black and red Nike "Swoosh" golf gloves, right hand for left-handed golfers, size small.

Maltby M Series forged 50° wedge (I'm told it's bent to 51° but I don't have a loft gauge so I am unable to check). Chrome finish, FST Pro-Black shaft, Lamkin Crossline black grip. Easy 9/10 condition. Gone.

$5 for shipping gets either. $7 for shipping nabs both.

Let's not all blow our wads in the first hour.

Are there many clubmakers/tinkerers here?

There are a few, but I don't know how many. I the ones I know for sure are you, me, dystopia, and (of course) Dyno. If there are others, I don't recall them piping up about it.

I've got a ton of stuff to get rid of, I 'll start with these:

Nak 5 wood: Grafalloy Blue Stiff. Winn midsize grip.  I acquired this club in a trade w/Dyno a couple of years ago, so you know it's got the mad muju poon.

Mercury Pro-Kevlar stiff:  New and uncut.

Pay shipping and they are your's.

Assuming it's a .335, any idea the profile and/or characteristics of the pro-kev? (I'd search, but I'm kinda lazy.)

It is .335, mid-high kick point, ~75g, pretty tip stiff, good feel.

It is a pretty good shaft, but it's butt-ugly.

If someone is stuck on wanting matching wedges ... I have the Snake Eyes "10" (52*) forged to pair with it.  Currently on a Rifle 5.5, but I'd like to keep that shaft and will happily reshaft with DG or whatever else I have that might be of interest.

Also GONE.

JD, what shaft is in your SE wedge?

OK, then my SE wedge is head-only too.

(But, for you non-clubmakers out there: I could be persuaded to shaft them up and pass them on to you.  If interested, shoot me an email and I'll see what kind of shafts I have lying around.  My supply is plentiful.)

Some more stuff to off-load:
Nak NP-1 52 degree wedge.  Head Only
Nak NP-1 60 degree wedge.  Head Only

The 52 is in 8.5-9 condition, the 60 is probably 7.5-8

Pay shipping, probably around 7-8 bucks.

I can build.  I'm looking for everything but a bag, and preferably, graphite shafts in the irons, probably even as many as three or four hybrids at the long end of the set.

She's 'neglected' her game the past few years, but will be trying out for her golf team.

The best I can do is offer an SK Fiber TT 80 Reg Flex graphite FW shaft. I don't know for certain how much the tip has been trimmed, it was pulled from a 4 wood. I'd have to measure length but the 4 wood played to 42.5".

Also still have the Maltby gap wedge.

According to Nakashima specs on the 2007 NX-1, the 52 is 8° and the 60 is 4°. I don't necessarily know how this would apply to these.

Adams Tight Lies 3-wood (15º I believe).  About 6.5/10 (paint is a little rough).  Re-shafted it could make a good driver for a 14 year old.

I have a RH 8º 8.25 launch angle SMT Spectrum with an SST pured (paid extra, sue me) AccuFlex VS339 S shaft, Golf Pride cordy grip.

The crown is in great shape, as is the shaft.

The grip has signs of wear, as does the face and sole.

Anyone would think I'd hit it a few times.   ;)

It has the massive SMT magnetic headcover with it, the one that you could warm your feet in during a blizzard.  It looks good.

Don't ask me the length, I forgot and can't be arsed to measure it, but it's less than 50" :)

Please don't ask for it if you have less than 50 posts here, I don't like you, or you have a SS in the 80s, unless you convince me it's for a good cause.  (And I can be a heartless bastard, just so you know)

Another caveat is that it used to be my baby and I'd rather keep it in my garage unused than let it end up unused in someone else's garage.

If it's not the club for you after you try it, you must post that and pay it forward again.

I will pay cheapo shipping.

Even to the frozen North.

Not internationally though (other than CAN), you cheeky bastards.

My SS is about 85, so I really need a higher lofted club with a softer shaft. I have no room for it in my garage, but I've got a place in my basement it can sit. Let me know if you're interested in dealing.

I've got:
Copperhead 13* 3 wood head.
Old set of Maxfli Tour LTD iron heads (like 845's) 3-w
Acer Wide sole heads 4-w. I have the 5 in my bag but I can pull it.
Couple of shaft pulls: VS339 Proto, Penley LS, Accuflex CAS. Apache MFS.

$4 for shipping and I'll pick up the diff. Everything is well used but still playable.

Everything is well used but still playable.

what length/flex is the Apache MFS?

Just remembered: SK Fiber TT80 Reg flex. Pulled from 4 wood. Have no idea how much it was tipped. Probably as much as a 4 wood would generally require. I'd have to measure total length if you were interested. Pay shipping.

Loco Pro 450cc Beta Titanium forged  :)

AccuFlex Evolution stiff.  It's probably around 45", Bryant reshafted it for me, 44.5" maybe.

Lamkin Permawrap classic standard grip.

Magnetic original headcover.

It's crazy long, peaches.

Grip and shaft are as new, couple of small scuffs on the head.  No way you could tell it had been hurled downrange after a shaft break  :sad3:

Caveat: Aske has first dibs having already expressed an interest.

Sorry for the delay. It is a stiff, 41". Probably good for a 3 or 5 wood.

Okay...in honour of my "winning" the Wishon in 911's contest, I will put something here.

Left-handed Ashton X1 3W head. About 8/10 condition with head cover
It is shafted with a Merc Performance, but I will pull the head to make it easier to mail to the US. The shaft is pretty weak.

I might give this a try. SS about 100 and I can launch it high.

Rifle spinner 5.5, w/ Lamkin Crossline Black cord. 33" tip to grip cap (pretty short, would play to probably around 34.5" depending on the hosel length of your wedge). I was told it wasn't tip trimmed, only butt trimmed. Pay shipping, it's yours.

Would this work in a pay it forward wedge re-shafting?

You mean for the Clive wedge deal? You're welcome to it if you want it. It will make a pretty short club though. That's why I'm not using it.

Oh, sorry Ted, I completely missed it.  Was it here, or in chat?

I had trouble seeing the screen last night through the bottom of those cans.

Are they for the wedges?
