I tried to get mrs. spaceage to let me put my Darth Vader ornament at the top. She said no. Instead she put a cutesy crafty angel up there.

Angel program.

We had a santa hat at first (which is apparently the new vouge chic) but she didn't like it.

As a kid, our family had an angel on the tree, but I'm leaning toward a star these days (if we ever find one).

We got this artsy-fartsy craft deal, made out of corn husks.

What ever makes her happy, and keeps me in "porcine"  ;)

A good bottle of Pinot Noir usually works for me.  [sm_devil]

It's uh, it's thin-skinned, temperamental, ripens early. It's, you know, it's not a survivor like Cabernet, which can just grow anywhere and uh, thrive even when it's neglected. No, Pinot needs constant care and attention. You know? And in fact it can only grow in these really specific, little, tucked away corners of the world. And, and only the most patient and nurturing of growers can do it, really. Only somebody who really takes the time to understand Pinot's potential can then coax it into its fullest expression. Then, I mean, oh its flavors, they're just the most haunting and brilliant and thrilling and subtle and... ancient on the planet.

I seriously don't get it. All churches have it on their message boards. "sun worship" here and "sun liturgy" there, and there's nowhere a damn sun to worship out there!!!

Hey, he needed a gig and I was feeling the season.
I have the Tom Cruise tree topper as well. He's battery operated and sings his own version of the Walter Kent Xmas classic, "I'll be homo for Christmas."

Is yours the bog standard version or the deluxe?

The deluxe combines a medley of that classic tune, together with a 'shortened' for him  version of other classics, Merry lil Christmas, Deck the Halls and another song I forget right now.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Don we now our gay apparel,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Yule tide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't remember the last song, but it has the following words in it, a remix by him, or something, it's my least fave of the 4 updated seasonal renditions....

I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus.

There's also something about 'Stars Coming Out For Christmas' but that only crops up randomly so I don't know if it's a battery issue.

The Deluxe version is also a full inch taller and half an inch wider.

The eyes also light up at key moments in the lyric and I'd swear his ass shook a bit.

I like it so much better than the usual fairy we have up there.

We will have an angel on our treetop.  Our tree isn't up yet, but we might be going to a friend's tree farm on Sat. to chop one down.

I suggested going with a square of burlap from a fabric store.  Kind of bunch it up, and around to give it a rustic/real tree look.  I thought it would look cool.  Karen found one she liked.

How about some fabric "snow" instead?

Gonna get plenty of real snow soon enough.

We stayed simple.  White lights, glass icicles, red beads.

Haven't put our tree up yet... it'll be a 'component' tree this year as opposed to an 'OEM'. Usually we have a star sitting on top of the tree though...
