I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened before. Peanut butter is never refrigerated when you buy it, and the label doesn't even recommend that you do after you open the jar.

Labels for all-natural peanut butter say to put it in the fridge after opening.  (or at least they did years ago.  I haven't eaten peanut butten since I was a kid.)

I always knew that those generic "Great Value" type foods were the same as the brand name item (other than the cheesy label and lower price, of course).
