Title: Manhattan Golf Gym Post by: dystopia on January 18, 2007, 01:19:03 PM I've never heard of this place before. A 15,000 sq. ft golf hangout in Manhattan. [sm_shock]
A Small Business Takes a Swing at a City Golf Club http://www.smartmoney.com/smallbiz/inthetrenches/index.cfm?story=20070118 Quote But this isn't just videogame golf. The brothers Saladino have played up the sport's exclusivity, turning what could be a glorified Bally Total Fitness into a country club of sorts. The lofty bilevel space offers a gleaming, fully equipped workout gym on the first floor; a golf center with wall-to-wall artificial turf on the second floor; and one-on-one personal instruction from fitness pros and golf experts, such as Robert Baker, who's taught top-ranked players and celebrities alike. (http://www.smartmoney.com/smallbiz/images/20070118golf.jpg)None of the services come cheap. Membership, which is limited to 500 people to ensure a rarefied air, runs $5,000 a year. Personal trainers cost $100 to $150 an hour, while golf instructors run $125 to $350 an hour. The entire golf center can be rented out — as it has been already, often by financial-services firms for corporate events — to the tune of $6,000 to $7,000 an evening. Title: Re: Manhattan Golf Gym Post by: stroh on January 20, 2007, 10:55:26 AM "Gime," what the hell is a "gime?" Well, it's complicated. But, basically a place where a bunch of dudes with lots of hair on their back, sit around in big pools of water, giving each other a bath. You can actually spend an enormous amount of money on "home gimes", but I wouldn't recommend it, unless, you're into that sort of thing. NTTAWWT.
