Title: Stupid Indy observation for 2010
Post by: gleek on May 30, 2010, 11:14:48 AM
So I check out the starting grid, and I see this half-Greek, half-Latin-sounding "sun" dude sitting in the pole position. I looked him up on Wikipedia, and I find out that he's sort of a big deal: 3-time 500 winner, DWTS, so on and so forth. I check out his age, and the dude is only 35. So I'm thinking: "*fudge*, this dude could win this 4th Indy 500 today, and he'd have a really good shot at being first-ever 5-time winner. Hell, I'd settle for just being Mr. Ashley Judd."

It''s always fun to watch an interview with Dario, because the accent is sort of misplaced, shall we say?

This thing is UGLY so far.

Probably more other channels too.  You get Palm Springs and LA stations.

Well, what do you know? Mr. Ashley Judd wins it. And Ms. Patrick finishes Top 5 again.

Give that one to her race strategist/engineer.

Damn, those posts are going to get us booted from Google for keyword stuffing (as well as the "adult" penalty).

http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=66358
Quote
"Keyword stuffing" refers to the practice of loading a webpage with keywords in an attempt to manipulate a site's ranking in Google's search results. Filling pages with keywords results in a negative user experience, and can harm your site's ranking. Focus on creating useful, information-rich content that uses keywords appropriately and in context.

To fix this problem, review your site for misused keywords. Typically, these will be lists or paragraphs of keywords, often randomly repeated. Check carefully, because keywords can often be in the form of hidden text, or they can be hidden in title tags or alt attributes.

How does Google even figure out if you're keyword stuffing?

I'm no expert, but I'd say that would have been hard to miss given the traffic around here.

One keyword a week, and then BAM 300 in less than a minute, LOL!

No biggie.

Actually, none of the words stood out to me individually.  It was more about the lines and lines of random adult words like this:

A ban from Google is pretty severe. There's no warning and you're pretty much screwed.
