We don't use drivers because our 1 irons go 350. :D

anywhere from 225 to 285  depending on exactly how well i hit it.

probably 255-265   is the realistic average/expectation

I play it at 230.  I've never been that long off the tee.

There is the occasional tag but o/w 230ish.

The trick for me is more finding the fairway.

Ok. we're serious  ;D

Very similar to Aske. Once in a while pop one out there 280-90 but that doesn't happen a lot.

250-260 is more like it.

Don't know.  Got a new driver that I haven't tried out on the course or range yet.

When I hit it straight, I probably average around 240.

220-230. If I'm lucky sometimes I can even find them.

I would, but I think I'm too drunk.  [sm_drinking]

Things are going in and out of focus.  :tinfoil:

Probably 230-240 on the average. I do catch one pretty well each time out to about 275-280, or so, but definitely not the norm.

LOL, that funny... and sadly true in my case as well. On a good day.  :sad3:

I have three types of acceptable drive:

1)  Mild hook.  Might even be called a BIG draw.  It's a weak shot though.  About 220 tops.

2)  Push.  About 250.  Can be more from time to time.

3)  Good shot.  Mostly in the 260-280 range I guess.  Hit one close to 300 on Saturday (scorecard measurement, for what that's worth).  My cousin, using my new TM540, got maybe 350 on the same hole.  It was massive.  I've never seen anyone closer to that green.  I think we just got lucky and a massive mojo vortex was passing by.

Who knows what the average is.  I topped one off the first tee for about 120.   :(

Caveat: I play at 4300-5500 feet.  People say that's worth 10% so maybe my 270 good drive is 245 at sea level.   [sm_dontknow]

Good solid hits get me 245-260 including roll, but I probably only average 230 with off center hits and lousy swings factored in.

I honestly don't know my average.  I'm usually either long or long-and-wrong.  It's not that often that I hit one short.

As if I needed to feel worse about my distance.

Ooops.  Sorry.   [sm_redface]

But you've got a wicked short game, yes?

I guess I throw that elevation thing out on these discussions as some just won't accept that a mid- to high-capper can hit the ball over 190 yards.  There's always someone calling you out.  It's a bit interesting.  If someone posts that they average 29 putts nobody says a word.  If someone posts that they get a few 300 yard drives a year they catch a bunch of flak.   [sm_dontknow]

Clarification: Not here, elsewhere.   ;)

240 to 250 average. I have been able to get 300 on good hits but I try to just play my average.

Anywhere from 50-275  :)  Probably average 225

I'm happy with anything 250 or more. I don't think I can crack 300 under normal conditions (level ground, no hardpan, no wind, sea level), but I can get close. 290 is about my limit. A typical round will have a couple in the 270-280 range. Fortunately all my courses are in high res territory on google earth, so I think I can measure +/- 5 yards pretty easily.

[smite people who brag]

The first hole at my club is like 470 from the tee's I normally play.  And I'm usually a club or two inside the 200 to the green.

It's not unusual to be holding a six iron after my tee shot, which would put me ~170 to the green.

I don't have time to run the calculations at the moment.

But I do have enought time to say that I'm an EXCELLENT golfer, apparently much better then a lot of people here apparently.

Well, it ain't unusual for me either.  The problem is I should be holing a different club.

My input is on the assumption that you mean carry. In Washington, as MFAWG I'm sure is painfully aware, there are only about 3 months where we can say carry...and roll. Their have been a few notable pros who played once in Washington State and due to the no roll quit coming back, notably Trevino.

So, with that I say, I vaguely remember days where I would hit drives that would carry in the 230 to 240 range, when the stars aligned and under certain atmospheric conditions and of course with the aforementioned unaccounted on roll their was the rare 300 yard drive. I gots no problem poking it out there a fer spell, the problem is contrary to my political leanings I'm generally way right, and around here that usually means in the trees.

But I'm a damn wicked scrambler, I usually say a prayer and chant Seve's name and voila.

My average distance with a driver is probably in the neighborhood of 220 yards.  But that includes pop-ups, duck-hooks and weak slices as well as my good ones.

My average distance when I hit the ball well is likely around 250 yards.  If I really cream one, I'll get it out there 270-280.  I could count on one hand the number of 300 yard drives I've had.
