Title: when you hit a shot... Post by: Aske on December 09, 2006, 08:59:47 AM do you generally know where it's going before you 'look up' at it, or is it more hit and hope you'll spot it ...
Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: Aske on December 09, 2006, 09:02:43 AM also, i guess we could subdivide this...
obviously everyone has their $ club(s) that this may be a different answer than some other club Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: spacey on December 09, 2006, 09:13:57 AM I can usually tell by how it feels coming off the club generally where it's heading. Of course sometimes I can watch it come down, know exactly where to look for it, and still not find it.

Of course sometimes I can watch it come down, know exactly where to look for it, and still not find it. i hear ya. the day i went to birdsfoot a while back trying to get 36 in? after a while, i got paired into a 4some, I hit the '1/100' drive that you know is just pured long and dead straight. everyone was 'wow, that's a mile down the center of the fairway' ... clear skies, watch it land... get there, ball not to be found. should have had about a 75 yard pitch onto the green :o Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: stroh on December 10, 2006, 09:30:55 AM I guess I would have to answer no.*
It depends on the swing, club, condition, etc. Consistency is my biggest prob. I can hit a shot and know exactly where it is without opening my eyes, and I can hit a shot, feels good, WTF, where did that go. :sad3: Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: twoiron on December 10, 2006, 01:32:46 PM at the moment I'm hitting everything left.... so I know it's gonna finish left.... depends how far left though.. :(
Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: JDerion on December 10, 2006, 07:40:55 PM Yes. I play a lot of evening golf during the summer when I'm chasing daylight. So when I'm teeing off at dusk I often can't see the ball coming off the club, but I'm pretty good at finding it based on how it felt when I hit it.

And then I have those days, when I don't have to look up to see the ball land. ;D I haven't played in 2 months, so I'm suspecting that option 1 would come into play now if I played. Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: E-A-G-L-E! on December 12, 2006, 09:57:55 AM Generally, I can know where it went by how it felt. Typically, also, my shots go straight or slightly right; then there are those occasional way left shots....
Title: Re: when you hit a shot... Post by: Eagleone on December 23, 2006, 01:32:55 AM There are times when I can tell where it is going but there are other times when I can't and normally there is no one around to be a spotter.
