Roads suck!  Drove on ice from MSP top Omaha.  25 mph for long periods of time.  The good news is I wasn't one of the 90+ cars and trucks I saw in the ditch.

Bummer.  Looks like a 3 day trip now. 

Pulled over for gas and am siphoning somebodys wi-fi. ;D

damn, that sucks!  I remember doing the drive from Pittsburgh to California 15 years ago with my car packed to the gills.  I took I-80 almost the entire way, but I bet you're taking a southern route.

I'm on 80 now.  York, NE.  Didn't get as far as I wanted, but all that white knuckle driving wore me out.
Pulled over to hole up (drink beer and sleep) for the night.  Will take 80 through Denver, Lost Wages, to the Desert.

Oh yeah.  And my beer froze.  >:(

One other memory I have of that trip was being completely surprised when there was a checkpoint entering California.  I was pretty sleep-deprived at that point and thought I had gotten very lost and was about to cross into another country. [sm_eek]

Then I was relieved when it turned out to be an Agricultural checkpoint.  The relief quickly went away when they suspiciously eyed the plant I had in the front seat.  But after I said it was a houseplant, they let me pass.

Ya'll know me, I'm easily impressed.  But it takes a lot to get me really struck.  Takes a hell of a lot to get me overwhelmed.

I'm beyond overwhelmed.  This is beyond my wildest expectation.  The size.  The scope.  The grandeur.  Just driving through town my jaw was on the ground and I got honked at and flipped off I don't know how many times.

I've been here only about an hour and I still can't even take it in.  Just to explore and enjoy what this one place has to offer will take me all night.  I'd like to go to Fremont for the real experience, we'll see.

Fuzz, I'm sure you've been here before, but if you ain't:  If I ever get back there I'm gonna piss on Mystic and laugh.

This place is insane.  Mall of 'Merka mixed with decadence.  I walked passed all these (bar club type) places they wouldn't even let me in.  Well, I didn't try, but I just knew.   Still can't find a cowbow hat.

Just South of the Luxor on the strip, my friend.  First time I went to Vegas (15 years ago), my wife kidnapped me for our first anniversary and we stayed at the Luxor.  We typically spend our time a little further north on the strip now, but you are REALLY close to In-n-Out.  Make sure to get over to Mandalay down there.  MGM is fun to walk around as well in your neck of the woods.

Been there twice. Two years ago Susan had a conference so I flew down on a Friday morning. She was done at noon and found me 4 drinks into a video blackjack session sitting at bar in the middle of the casino. We stayed at Mandalay Bay.
