Title: I feel like Post by: Darla on June 11, 2010, 07:37:00 PM filing a complaint. Don't hate, but I did originally start out going to the University of Phoenix on line. Yes I know they took me to the cleaners with their admission...... But I got smart and went to an actual University here in Texas. Well now I am screwed, at least until Monday when I call the Texas State Board of Public Accounting.....
As of today they say that I am more hours short of being able to sit for the CPA exam than I thought I was. But I think that they are at least 9 of the hours I took from there. The other 6 I should get. DAMN IT.... Yes I am upset. Now I have my Bachelor's degree and thought that I had enough college hours and I am currently taking a 3 hour auditing class b/c I thought that was all I was missing to be able to sit for the exam. Well the Texas State Board has another opinion. It really sucks that I was wrong and that what I thought should count doesn't actually count. Now which direction do I go...... I just don't know what is the right way to go. Try and get the hours needed to sit for my CPA or try and get my Masters degree in something else. Well life sucks at the moment. I can't continue to make Spanky work the extra overtime if I am not taking the CPA review course. ..... I'm with Blader, in as much as I got lost in the math. How far away are you from you Masters? If that's doable, hell, why not. Spanky should understand. We all make sacrifices. It is just annoying b/c they do not specify in their letter which hours they do not agree too.
The letter states: You need 30 hours of accounting to be eligible to sit for the exam, you only have 12............. WTF!!!! I was hoping I had 27 hours........ If I have to take 6 more accounting classes I might as well as go for my masters degree. I didn't really want to spend the money on it, if all I needed was one class. Apparently, they don't recognize her certification. The punchline is that the *goshdarn* school she attended is at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

Damn IT! The board approved my business course that had the same prefix but they will not the accounting hours. DAMN IT!
