Title: Seeking Antivirus Software
Post by: Clive on February 05, 2007, 07:51:23 PM
Home computer runs Windows XP Home and, currently, Norton Antivirus 2006.  NAV2006 has run out its one-year Auto-Update subscription and pesters me to renew.  Research shows that NAV2007 sucks hard.

Looking for something good and protective that doesn't require me to be a programmer to understand, install, and use.

Help me, Ho-bi-Wan, you're my only hope.

I'm looking at a free download of AVG, but I remember Aske talking about Kaspersky.  Don't know which version, though.

aske will be back shortly. He's watching Heroes on TiVo.

FWIW, I use McAfee and have had good luck with it.

A link Aske posted on Vista today/yesterday noted Macafee as another of the four that failed the virus detection test.
