Title: Name The Thread Title.
Post by: stroh on February 13, 2010, 07:11:23 PM
Here I was all set to come home and post this thread:

Lightning In A Bottle?

You see, I'm at the casino.  Down to 30 bones and then I see this machine.  I think what the *fudge*, right? Then BAM!

So I'm feeling pretty good right?  I stroll around drink 8 or 9 beers cash in my ticket to leave and the BAM!  I run right the *fudge* into this machine again.

Kismet?  You tell me?

So:  Round 2.

Short story long.  No John Daly, I'm flush with cash, beer and angst*  (*fodder for the next thread)

 So what do I do?

I gave it all back.  All of it.

For us to live any other way was nuts.  To us those goody-good people who
worked *feces*ty jobs for bum paychecks and took the subway to work and
worried about bills, were dead.  They were suckers.  They had no balls.  If we wanted something, we just took it.  If anyone complained twice, they got hit so bad they never complained again. It was all just routine.
You didn't even think about it.

Now it's all gone.

I was gonna go home and order spaghetti with marinara sauce instead I'll have to eat egg noodles and ketchup.

I was thinking of McPhilson's U.S. open press conference opening of: "I'm such an idiot."

But that works too.

So whenever any of you book a room to stay there, ask for the top floor.  The newest addition.  When you check in, just think of me and smile.

Damn.   This thread sucks.  I thought it was going to end well for our hero.  Have you kept a tally on how much you're up or down in slots since moving there?  I'm not sure I like your chances beating those machines.

I, for one, welcome our new machine overlords

Yeah, sukkage.

I really have nobody to blame but myself.  I was at the machine and said if I hit a big one again I'm walking out.  Addiction took over and I could not.  I made a promise to the reel gods and when I didn't follow through they let me know who was boss.

I had 10 100 dollar bills in my pocket and should have just walked out the door, but at the time, I was fully prepared to add another 500 or so to it.

Here's how I look at it.  I go (went) there for fun and entertainment because it's one of the things I like to do.  I wasn't there to try to make a score to pay a bill or make a living.  With that attitude, I was able to play for a long time (which is what I enjoy, the actual playing.  Like the chase and not the kill) and play for the majority of it with their money.  So......I had fun.  I really did.  Felt like a true high roller strolling around.

I have a running tally of about where I'm at.  All in all, I'm about even.  I took a good hit in Vegas, so that hurts against what I have actually left these buildings with.
