Unfortunately, he suffered a serious head injury as a child and he was never able to deal with people in a normal manner. That's probably the major reason he was never to play on the world stage, he couldn't cope with the people and the pressure.
Still, with his amazing, repeatable golf swing, Norman left quite a legacy in Canadian golf. Here's a list of some of his accomplishments: - Canadian Amateur Championship winner (1955, 1956)[/li][/list] - 55 Career Canadian Tour wins - Canadian PGA Championship winner (1966, 1974) - Canadian PGA Seniors' Championship winner (1979-'85, 1987) - 33 course records - 17 holes-in-one Once, when he needed a par on the 18th to set a course record, he was told that a particular par-4 was driver/9-iron. So, he hit a 9-iron off the tee, then used his driver to put his next shot on the green. Moe was the only golfer ever placed on a Titleist launch monitor that never recorded any sidespin on his shots. Every shot was dead centre. In 1995 he was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, and in 2006 he was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. In 1995, in recognition of Norman's contribution to golf, Titleist announced it would paly him $5,000 a month for the rest of his life. When told of this, Norman said, "I've played your balls all my life. I wear your shoe. What do I have to do for that?" Wally Uihlein, President and CEO of Titleist, responded with, "You have already done your part Moe. Titleist is just saying thank you for what you've already done." Moe Norman truly was an amazing golfer. He could send his caddie out to any distance, hit any club, and the caddie didn't have to move more than a step to retrieve the ball.

The truth of the matter is the resulting births became the Toronto Maple Leaf team that won the Stanley Cup in 1967, the last time they won the Cup.
