Basically a long standing dispute between myself and my manager in how the day to day operations should go, ended today in the termination my employment.

Not really surprising, in fact I really could have seen it happening well before now.  I really wasn't that happy the last few years.  The tough part is trying to wrap my head around the fact that "Damn, this is for real.  I have no job."

Oh well.  *fudge* 'em.

I always thought that termination based on anything short of:
-stealing Post-Its
-embezzlement
-malicious destruction of company-owned property
-****ual harrassment
-punching out the boss
-boning the cleaning lady in the copy room

was eligible for unemployment insurance.

Stroh's fine. Unless he quit or as gleek noted, discharged due to misconduct.

And the misconduct had better be well documented*. The onus is on the employer and even if misconduct is the case most employers will not fight it. Just not worth the effort.
