Title: [RANT] [NSFW] [RANT] So we get this new prescription plan at work.......
Post by: PaunchyBald on February 11, 2012, 06:44:56 PM
and for my cholesterol and BP drugs taken on a maintainance basis, I'm RE-*goshdarn*-QUIRED TO USE THAT *feces*HOLE PLACE CALLED WAL-MART!  To say I'm pissed is putting it mildly.

I really hate that place.  My shadow hasn't darkened the threshold of one of those places since I left Wonder Bread.   I'm seriously considering quitting the meds.  No way in 10 kinds of hell I want to give any of my hard earned money to those wastes of skin in the Walton family.  I ain't talking goodnight John-Boy neither!

I tried returning something once at Walmart.  Crazy experience.  Huge line and everyone was in a foul mood.(well, most people are in a foul mood in a return line in general, but there were also a bunch of people cashing checks in the same line who were especially pissed at the folks returning shopping carts full of stuff (gatorade, TP, snacks))

Closest Costco is an hour's drive.  This plan I have to suffer with is through Cigna.  That is a company that, that, 'corporations are people' asshat should have to deal with.  Add Harry Reid, Ms. Nancy, and crybaby Boehner to that list too.  If them lying, two faced scalawags really want to fix the healthcare system, don't address the symptoms.  I don't know what the answers are, but forcing everyone to carry health insurance ain't enough.  With that program in place, my health insurance costs have risen 25%.  I'm sure Cigna's have risen as well.  That outpaces inflation on a logarithmic scale.  The raise I got last year doesn't even come close to covering that expense.  I've begun to think a single payer system might be the only answer at this point.

Oh yeah, I could opt out of the drug plan, if I want to pay full price out of pocket.

Insurance rates have been outpacing inflation for decades, which was part of the problem.

I'm considering dropping my plan altogether and getting primary care through the VA, which is now MUCH easier to qualify for than in the past.

The alternative to stopping those meds is living out the rest of your life getting wheeled into WalMarts to pick up your diapers,  because you had a stroke and can't walk, talk or pee or *feces* properly anymore.

Reasonable people have been saying that for a long time, but the unreasonable people stuck their fingers in their ears and started singing, "La la la.  La la la.  La la la....." and so they never heard it or something.

Blader;  succinct, if not diplomatic.  I rather like that in a person.  I had once thought  you were in the medical profession.  If so, you bedside manner must suck!  Just sayin'.  ;D

Truth is, I'm actually a rare med school drop out.  I hated sick people.  But their diseases fascinate me, so I got a PhD instead so I wouldn't have to spend the rest of my life listening to their miserable stories.  Then God invented the intergoogles.....so here I am.  Right back to where I didn't want to be in the first place.

I've been compared to House sometimes.  I wouldn't know, since I've never watched the show.

I was always a "rub some dirt in it" little league coach.  My most inglorious moment was sending a kid back into a game after he broke his back sliding into home (which we only found out a few days later after a delayed trip to get an MRI.

What!? Gimme a break.  He could walk!  How was I to know?  We would've had to take an out in his spot in the lineup.  Little league rules are not for wussies.
