Title: Would you hire this guy? Post by: hobbit on July 08, 2007, 06:40:58 PM So, I'm getting marble tile in my main bath and got a quote for the work. The contractor has been trying to talk me into going half way up all the walls with it (like wainscoting) as well, but I've been resistant. So, here's the quote:
Code: Floor Coverings- Remove existing bath fixtures and cap off I should mention - he's a friend of mine ;) Title: Re: Would you hire this guy? Post by: stroh on July 08, 2007, 06:47:33 PM LOL at the quote.

The wife wanted to go halfway up the walls with tile, for maintenance reasons. The interior design people said no, since it would make the bathroom look like a public restroom.

Post by: birdymaker on July 09, 2007, 03:46:09 PM screw the green board. it deteriorates pretty much like drywall. use 1/2" wonderboard on the walls in the wet areas. much more stable base, and more water and mildew resistant. trust me.
