Title: 2 hours, 47 minutes...
Post by: MFAWG on April 17, 2007, 03:50:34 PM
Checked into the proshop at 11:50, walked onto the first tee right then, and walked off of 18 at 2:37.

It helped that it POURED rain when I got to the 3d hole, sending the 4some in front of me scurrying for the clubhouse, and two 4somes let me through later. It stopped raining when I was in the 5th fairway, right before I pulled a 6 iron into the trees....

Okay, 44 on the front, 46 on the back. My short game COMPLETELY deserted me on 12, where I took a triple by skulling a chip shot off the back of the green, duffing the comebacker and finally getting it on and down.

Funny.. when I was reading your first post I had this image of you walking the course with Carl Speckler... right before the 'heaviness set in'....

We joke about the weather here, but on a day like today (and a large part of April and early May) it's going to do pretty much any and everything in any given 3 or 4 hour period, including the completely wacko bizarreness of standing in full on sunlight while it pours rain on you from a passing squall...

Wow.. I thought Melbourne was the only place in the world where that happens.  Some days we can get 4 seasons in one day....

I had a brief 30 minute drizzle about 12:30-1ish, other than that It's been partly sunny all day here in Shan-gri-la South, and I'm probably what 15 miles as the crow flies from you?
