Title: A first for today
Post by: Walfredo on July 31, 2009, 09:07:01 AM
I made my first official commute to work via bicycle.  I live 3 miles away.  And it was a very nice ride in this morning.  I got a little sweatier than I had hoped I would.  Got to lower my gearing a little I think.  I'm riding a singlespeed road bike, so I have no choice but mash up the hills.  I do love coasting down them though.

I plan on making this a regular occurance too.

Uisce approves this message.

Starting with 2.5 miles each way train station to work.  Some nightly road work and some fire road working up to single track on the weekends.  Goal is to get to the point where I'm also riding 6-7 to and fro train station on this end.  It's all uphill in the evening though.   :-\

I was devastatingly buff and handsome as a youth.  I'll be there again by Halloween bitches.  Book it.

4)  Five pounds of Uisce fat gone bye-bye so far and a fair bit more converted to leg muscles.  What had me close to puking on day one doesn't even faze me now.  On average and allowing for luck with the traffic lights I've cut 3-5 minutes off my uphill commute in the morning.  *goshdarn* iron man so I am.

Sweet I forgot all about that thread.  I first started back into biking a few months ago for exercise.  But I could only really ride on the weekends and early am.  I hate waking up earlier than I have to, so I don't to the weekdays much.  This way I can get some miles in during the week.  I too am hoping to get back into the devastatingly handsome good looks of my youth, or just lose 20 lbs. at the very least.

Welcome to the club---I peddle to and fro One Blader Plaza daily....or at least on the daily's I actually head over to the corporate suites.  Some daily's I don't.

I just keep some nice fresh clothes stocked in the office.  I have a little fun some mornings when someone in the secretarial pool 'accidentally' sneaks into my office shortly after I arrive, when I'm changing.

They are a frisky bunch, God love 'em!

Yes, but of course.  I think I remember you now!

You're the camera man with the pencil-thin mustache?
