Title: World's Shortest Rant
Post by: Uisce Beatha on January 09, 2009, 05:39:30 PM
I believe the following words don't need any elaboration whatsoever.  The subject says it all.

Two word rant out there?  Anyone?  Anyone?  Anyone?

Not following.  We got ZERO -- not even the 5.8% COLA that SSA gives retirees for 2009.  Which is odd, because our company did well in 2008: good revenue in the face of our customers' declining sales, solid profit as both a raw dollar amount and a percentage of revenue, strong cash position.

But now I've gone over two words.

Some of us (overpaid union employees [sm_devil]) will get a contractual raise (mine was something like 1.7% last year), plus a COLA over a certain amount (none).  Perhaps that was the source of confusion.

Do you have a step-ladder, or do I need to bring it?

4% raise but suspension of 401k contribution match through 2009, so I effectively got nothing. But I remain employed so I've got that going for me, which is nice.
