Title: New music Post by: Spanky on August 27, 2008, 05:50:10 PM It seems most of us are stuck in the past as to the music we listen to (or at least tend to link to as our favorites). Are there any new musicians or bands that you like?
Aske you can reply also as I am open. Title: Re: New music Post by: stroh on August 27, 2008, 06:19:41 PM I like Maroon 5.

With the fragmentation of radio it is almost impossible to find anything new (and decent) to listen to via that medium. I am particularly frustrated as well as I've always considered myself a "music junkie". I've tried Pandora with a modicum of success. I've also recently started exploring XM radio. Title: Re: New music Post by: hobbit on August 27, 2008, 07:09:12 PM I've been using Pandora as well, with some success. I've certainly heard good songs I would have never otherwise heard, just was looking for more out of it. Tends to get too 'pop'y' at times.

I've come to the realization that my taste in music died about the same time as did my taste in fashion. I like a couple of newer/newish bands, but few and far between. Title: Re: New music Post by: MFAWG on August 27, 2008, 08:14:45 PM I get out a little:

Title: Re: New music Post by: spacey on August 27, 2008, 08:40:56 PM Some of these kind of depend on your definition of "new." Most of it is total crap, but whatcha gonna do? Most new music is.

Identity crisis in that band. No likey. 5) lol. Reminds of the stuff I listened to in my early 20s. Pretty good. 6) ditto. But I'm still not going to go buy it. 7) Slayer? Decent band, but I thought he was looking for new ones? 8 ) you gave me this one via chat one night - good music, bad vox. 9) meh Title: Re: New music Post by: Aske on August 28, 2008, 03:38:21 PM lol, about the best i expected.

http://www.amazon.com/%25-Smilers-Aimee-Mann/dp/B00171MNKQ Lots of new music on NPR's World Cafe too. 2nd Edit. There is a band out of LA called Carney. Very Led Zepplinesque, but original.
