Title: Bright side for Vikings fans
Post by: gleek on January 26, 2010, 10:27:47 AM
Stats (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/100126&sportCat=nfl) of the Championship Round No. 9: The Vikings have lost four straight conference championship games.

0-4 Super Bowl record doesn't look so bad compared to 0-8.  ;D

Speaking of Vikings fans, maybe stroh and Torpedo will be inspired by this guy to keep their playoff beards going.

Don't call it a playoff beard. After 36 years, it's much more than that. Plain and simple, it's a Super Bowl beard.

Emmett Pearson, a farmer who lives in rural Welch, watched the Minnesota Vikings lose the 1975 Super Bowl to the Pittsburgh Steelers and immediately began growing a beard. The 79-year-old hasn't shaved since, and doesn't plan to until the Vikings win the big game — whenever that might be.

"I made a vow, and I'm going to stick with it," he said. "But I think my wife would just as soon I give it up."

Good question.  I don't know what they call them.  I can tell you though, for whatever reason they aren't up to par with what I've seen around the league.

I mean they're no '70s Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
